Someone to hold the weight of this with you.

For mums, dads and couples finding early parenthood navigating the ups and downs of parenthood. Warm, practical one-on-one therapy and support.

We are so glad you’re here.

Finding your way to this page can take a lot. Maybe you’ve been meaning to reach out for a while, or maybe something today just told you it was time. Either way, you’re welcome here, just as you are.

Parenthood changes so much: your body, your sleep, your relationships, even how you see yourself. Many parents find it brings up more than they expected. That’s not a sign you’re doing it wrong. It’s a sign you’re carrying a lot, and you deserve support with it.

Some of the things parents bring to us:

  • You feel like you've lost track of who you were before all this

  • Your birth, or something before it, still feels stuck

  • You're anxious, flat, or running on empty most days

  • You love your kids and still find this really hard

  • You're not sure what's wrong, just that something doesn't feel right.

  • Your relationship has changed and you need help navigating tension, conflict or just the new normal.

How we work

We look at the whole picture: your body, your mind, your relationships and your world. Sessions are warm, practical and never judgemental. Depending on what you need, we might draw on:

  • Less fighting with your feelings, more living by what matters to you (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy)

  • Real-world tools for the moments when everything feels like too much (DBT skills)

  • Gentle support to process experiences that still feel stuck, like a hard birth or past trauma (EMDR)

  • Specialist training in mental health during pregnancy and early parenting (COPE perinatal training)

Our support is evidence-informed, and it sits alongside your own instincts. You know your family. We're here to walk alongside you, not hand you another rulebook.

Meet Eva

Eva Hewitson is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and co-founder of Parentkind, with more than 15 years working in mental health. She is trained in ACT, DBT skills, EMDR, COPE perinatal practice and attachment-based sleep support.

Eva believes parents need room to breathe: space to get to know their baby, to find their way back to each other, and to be held by a village of their own. She also knows the road isn’t a straight line.

A mum of two, she brings her own lived experience of parenthood to her work, and she cares about the wider pressures that make early parenthood harder than it needs to be. Her focus is simple: families who feel supported, connected and less alone.

Let us answer your burning questions.

We have in-person therapy at our office in Mudgeeraba. We can also offer online sessions. In some cases we can come to you (additional costs for travel).

Where can I have a session?

Sessions last 50mins.

How long is a session?

Our sessions are $200 with a medicare rebate of $89.50 with a mental health care plan (out of pocket cost of $110.50). We do offer sliding scale pricing for those where cost is a barrier. We want mental health support to be accessible to everyone.

4

With a mental health care plan, you can get a medicare rebate for up to 10 sessions a year. You can also use your private health and DVA.

What other types of therapy support can I access?

If one on one therapy isn’t the best fit for you. Then you can also join our group sessions Morning Nest, which are a most cost effective and beautiful way to talk about what’s happening and connect over the shared journey with other parents.
